It was a great first week! It is so wonderful to come back to familiar faces at BCA this year! There are exciting things happening on all fronts, but I will choose a few short stories to highlight this first week.
8th Grade Homeroom! - The 8th graders are ready to share their Middle School experiences with 6th graders (which is an especial gift to me as a mother of a 6th grader). On Friday morning several of the students spent homeroom connecting with their fellow 6th graders. In the meantime we had a discussion with everyone else about hopes and goals for the year. The resounding themes for this class are: FUN, ENCOURAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP, MAKE OUR SCHOOL BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to see what this wonderful group accomplishes this year. 2nd grade! - I love the energy in this group of kids! They have so much to share, and parents, I am blown away my how much they remember from last year. I jumped right into Spanish with them, and not a single student skipped a beat. As I tried to calm their vivacious energy, one particular little guy said, "It's just that I'm so excited to see you!" This class has always given me a special welcome, and I love the time that I get to spend with them. It was a great first week!
